Sugapa Intan Jaya, MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Bilogai Post led by First Lieutenant Abdian, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with residents of the Bilogai Village, Sugapa District, while performing the areal protection activity. This Komsos aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. Therefore, on Tuesday, the Soldiers took advantage of their task by interacting and communicating with some Bilogai residents. The interaction occurred when the Patrol Team passed by the area of Bilogai Village.
While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the residents. In this communication, the residents conveyed the security situation updates in the Bilogai Village, which is still relatively safe and conducive. The residents also felt happy with the concern of the Soldiers who distributed food packages. One of them, Mama Marta Tabuni, described her impression by saying, “Thank you, Commander 509. God bless”, a powerful testament to the strong bond between the community and the Task Forces. This heartwarming response from the residents underscores the impact of the Task Forces’ efforts, as well as the unity and support in the assigned area. The feedback from the residents has an essential effect on military operations, demonstrating the community’s influence on the Task Forces’ operations.

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with some residents in Bilogai Village.
